Do they taste like a lady who has smoked all her life or like someone was in a room smoking a f—-ing ham???
*afraid to speak*
Hi Uncle Larry!
I love the comparisons.
I can’t drink the Old Bear. I find it too bitter/smoky. My scotch drinking husband is a fan and ordered a few to drink on his own. (Just a little more evidence to support your gender theory).
Thanks for another great episode.
Carolyn
PS- still waiting for the 2015 Last Thoughts review!
Got me my own sample to examine, heh hehe.
Looking forward to seeing your thoughts on B&B!
I’m with you, Carolyn. Old Bear was so unpleasantly smoky and bitter to my taste I threw out the rest of my sample. But I’m a male, so I’m not sure it really is a gender thing.
I haven’t had the comparison Xiaguan from this particular episode, but the better-grade older Xiaguans for me have a sweetness in the finish and a complexity alongside their smokiness that makes them much more enjoyable than Old Bear.
It’s each to their own, in tea as in life.
Hi Kritiker,
Thanks for chiming in. I’m sure that there’s better Xiaguans than this Purple Box one, will need to hunt those down at some point.
Cheers,
-James
Hi Carolyn,
Thanks for the comment. My girlfriend is in the same boat, found it more or less totally undrinkable. Going to be filming my Last Thoughts episode this week. Should be released next week! Sorry for the dilly-dally.
Cheers,
-James
Nice comparison we should do th…oh wait. 😛
Old Bear’s are back in stock. Paul had to wrap some more up.
Thanks Richard! Yes indeed they are.
Cheers,
-James
