I am not sure how the vendor did it, but I think this cake taste very clean and not “wet” at all. I would not guess this tea is from Hong Kong.
I remember this cake taste more consistent throughout the session, while the one I have seems a bit rougher initially and taste more humid. They don’t taste exactly the same, but I thought in general they share similar profile. Maybe In a few years it will taste even more similar to yours.
It is kind of a dark medicinal woody taste to me. Very comforting to drink during cold dark day. I would also like to see if I can get more, if the price is right.
Yes indeed. The comparison with your 1998 Malaysian stored buds was quite interesting. They have a somewhat similar structure.. The guys that stored the 2001 are supposedly trad. stored warehouse specialists, so you’re right that it probably had something to do with it.
Last summer, I drank a whole ton of young raw. This year I suppose we will see. My body is naturally quite cold and it’s difficult to get me to sweat, so it might be more of the same.

James, as a puerh lover and not drinking much young sheng, what do reach for tea wise in the warmer months?
Hi Zach,
Last summer, I drank a whole ton of young raw. This year I suppose we will see. My body is naturally quite cold and it’s difficult to get me to sweat, so it might be more of the same.
