2006 Fengqing 7811 Raw Pu’erh [Inbetweenisode 141]

This episode, James brings on a premium, tippy, extremely powerful pu’erh from Best Tea House. Thanks to Bev at http://listeningtoleaves.blogspot.com/ for the very generous sample.

    Hi James,

Nice session. I’m not very familiar with Feng Qing teas, but I suspect they are less expensive than Xishuangbanna teas. It sounds like something I should sample.

Could you elaborate a bit on Bev’s storage method? I used to keep my cakes in ziplock bags, so I am curious what is meant by her cakes being plastic wrapped.

      Hi Theo,

Yes in general I think they are. There’s exceptions of course and this tea does cross me as a particularly good example of one. Scott also used to carry a Dasi which is from Fengqing.

Bev uses plastic wrap/shrink wrap around her cakes and then puts them into her storage container (no humidity added to my knowledge). This post (with pictures) probably explains it a bit better than my words can: http://listeningtoleaves.blogspot.com/2013/10/new-storage-experiment.html .

      Hope that helps and cheers!
